Jakobi Meyers (WINNER)

Surprise, surprise. Another summer week is in the books, and with it, another incredible showing from the Patriots’ training camp standout.

Jakobi Meyers has got to be one of the more impressive stories in recent New England history. While it hasn’t been uncommon for undrafted players to make noise during the summer and then go on to have a major impact over the course of the regular season for the Pats, those players are usually on the defensive side of the equation (J.C. Jackson, Malcolm Butler, Jonathan Jones).

It’s much more rare to find an undrafted rookie rocketing his stock up on the New England offense, but that’s exactly what Meyers is doing. He saw an opening at receiver after injuries or suspension claimed Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, Demaryius Thomas, Cameron Meredith, Maurice Harris, Phillip Dorsett, and N’Keal Harry; he saw that opening and he dove right through it, and now he’s the hottest name in New England.

Even with a number of those aforementioned players on the cusp of returning to action before September 8, Meyers has undoubtedly done enough to solidify his spot on the final roster. He caught all six of the passes thrown his way against the Titans, piling up 82 yards in the process (both figures led the team).

And while he didn’t score a touchdown this week, he did snag a successful two-point conversion pass from Brian Hoyer.
