N’Keal Harry working out with Tom Brady and Julian Edelman
A recent series of Instagram posts showed New England Patriots teammates N’Keal Harry, Julian Edelman, and Tom Brady working out together.
Patriots rookie wide receiver N’Keal Harry has been the story of the offseason so far for New England. He’s lighting up OTA practices as he showcases the diverse and impressive skill-set that made him a first-round draft pick last April, and in the process, continuing to build up a growing army of admiring fans.
If recent photographic evidence is to be believed, it appears he’s even putting in extra time outside of OTAs to work with two veteran leaders on the offense: quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver Julian Edelman.
First it was Brady himself who fanned the fires of excitement, posting a series of images on his Instagram account from a workout session somewhere secluded in a wooded field. The images included Brady, Edelman, kids, dogs… and Harry, with his back to the camera, waiting to catch a pass from his new quarterback.
While it’s become commonplace to see Brady and Edelman working out on their own outside of Patriots’ official team activities or practices, it’s fun to see Harry getting in on some of that action now himself… particularly since the rookie had previously mentioned not having met Brady yet in person, only communicating with him via social media.
Harry did his part in confirming the workout, too, posting his own image to his Instagram account. In Harry’s photo, the tall receiver is leaping up to high-point a Brady pass, his arms outstretched to complete the catch.

Not to be outdone (especially not on social media, where he’s a pro’s pro), Edelman shared some images on his account Wednesday. With the simple but profound accompanying caption of “Fundamentals and repetition,” the reigning Super Bowl MVP shared three images of him and his new younger counterpart working through what looked like route-running drills.
Neither Harry nor Edelman are known for their blazing speed, but both have created names for themselves in their respective parts of their football careers by working harder and being better at certain aspects of the receiver position than their contemporaries. For Harry, it’s outmuscling defenders and making tough, contested catches in traffic; for Edelman, it’s slippery route-running and finding endless ways of getting open on the field.
Patriots fans have got to be excited to see three of the team’s biggest stars all spending time together on their own to build chemistry and camaraderie this early in the NFL offseason.
Hopefully, it’s a harbinger of incredible things to come.
