Veteran linebacker Terrell Suggs refused to marvel at Tom Brady’s lengthy career, but he did begrudgingly admit his championship record speaks for itself.

Terrell Suggs may have changed the uniform on his back for the first time in his nearly 17-year career, but the 36-year-old linebacker still hasn’t changed his outlook on New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

Longtime nemeses from their days competing against each other while Suggs was with the Baltimore Ravens, both he and Brady have openly admitted they flat-out don’t like each other. Suggs has previously refused to say Brady’s name out loud while referring to the New England quarterback in interviews, has called him “smug,” and even went so far once as to say he hates Brady’s hair.

While TB12 has traditionally been a bit more diplomatic in trying to avoid dishing out bulletin board material to a rival player or team, he did say Suggs wasn’t on his Christmas card list in 2013, sarcastically remarking that “maybe one of these years, we’ll get together for dinner or something” to reporters.

Now with the Arizona Cardinals, Suggs joined Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe on FS1’s “Undisputed” for a television interview on Wednesday. Asked if he was shocked that Brady was still playing at 41 and at a high level, Suggs refused to take the bait and pay his adversary any compliments.

"“Well, the way the game’s played now, the way the rules changed, you know I’ll probably be able to sneak it out until I’m 40,” Suggs told Bayless and Sharpe. “It’s not the same game from when I came in, and when Shannon played… it’s almost two-hand touch now, but hey, we’ll play nice, we’ll play long, so it’s not shocking at all. The rules ain’t the same, you know, the game isn’t the same, they have more protection than anybody, you know, quarterbacks in this league, so it’s not very shocking at all.”"

Bayless followed this question up by asking if Suggs had gained respect for Brady at all, at which time the veteran linebacker took a significant pause before responding, staring up into the air, and shaking his head.

Whether intentionally or accidentally, he asked the talk show hosts if Brady had five rings now, to which they corrected him that he now has six. Suggs clarified that Brady has as many now as NBA legend Michael Jordan, before finally admitting, “What can I say to that?”

It won’t go down as praise or as an endorsement, but in the bitter history between these two players, it’s probably the closest we’ll ever come to Suggs saying something nice about Brady.
