COACHING:

First, Miami needs a head coach. Mike Tannenbaum was formerly in control of the front office, which limited the power of Chris Grier at General Manager. Tannenbaum is out now, along with head coach Adam Gase, and Grier has emerged as the power broker in the front office. He will get to pick the next head coach in Miami.

The Dolphins are interviewing Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, Patriots de facto defensive coordinator Brian Flores, Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak, Cowboys defensive back coach Kris Richard, and internal candidate/special teams coach Darren Rizzi.

Whether quarterback Ryan Tannehill returns in Miami will likely come down to the whims of Grier and whoever is hired as the team’s next head coach.
