In Week 13, what can fantasy football owners expect from New England Patriots tight end, Rob Gronkowski?

The New England Patriots will be facing the Minnesota Vikings in a big matchup for both teams. As we get closer to the start of the NFL Playoffs, the same is true for fantasy football owners.

With the Patriots, fantasy football owners are generally able to get quite a bit of production out of their players. However, one of the players that has been a disappointment is tight end Rob Gronkowski.

As likely a high pick by many fantasy football owners, not having Gronkowski producing on a weekly basis has likely hurt many teams. However, it appears like Gronkowski is getting healthier and might be ready for a strong end to the season.

Against the Jets in Week 13, Gronkowski was able to show signs that he is healthy. In the win, Gronkowski totaled three receptions, 56 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown. With the Patriots having a comfortable lead, they didn’t have to throw the ball a ton.

In Week 13, Gronkowski will not have an easy matchup like most of his teammates against the Vikings. However, if the Vikings do have a little weakness in terms of fantasy scoring allowed, it has been against tight ends.

For the most part, Gronkowski has been hurt and inconsistent this season, which has hurt his overall season production. However, Gronkowski is now getting healthy and might be able to contribute in a big way at the end of the fantasy season and in the playoffs.

In a game like this against a tough Vikings defense, expect to see Gronkowski targeted frequently by Brady. With the potential to have a messy pocket on Sunday Brady might be checking down to Gronk quite a bit. While the matchup isn’t ideal, Gronkowski is matchup proof when healthy and should have a good game.

Projection: 5 receptions, 80 receiving yards, one receiving touchdown.
