In Week 13, the New England Patriots secondary will be tested by the Minnesota Vikings.

Coming into Week 13, the New England Patriots will be looking to keep pace with the Kansas City Chiefs for the No.1 seed in the AFC. The Patriots are one game behind the Chiefs, but hold the tiebreaker thanks to a head-to-head win earlier in the season if they can catch them.

In Week 13, the Patriots will have a tough test against the Minnesota Vikings, who are hungry to keep pace in the NFC playoff picture. After a big win on Sunday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers, the Vikings need all the wins they can get to try and chase down the Chicago Bears for the NFC North.

While the Vikings were predicted by many to be a top team this season after signing Kirk Cousins, they certainly haven’t had the season they were hoping. Cousins has had a good first season in Minnesota, but that hasn’t translated into them being a dominant team like many thought.

However, the Vikings are playing a bit better now, and they have a great passing attack that the Patriots will have to worry about. When facing the Vikings, opposing defenses have to be concerned about one of the best wide receiver duos in the NFL. Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs are both great wide receivers, and they really compliment each other nicely.

Diggs is certainly the home run threat of the two, while Thielen is one of the top possession receivers in the league. This season, Diggs has totaled 79 receptions, 790 receiving yards, and six receiving touchdowns. For Thielen this season, he has totaled 93 receptions, 1,138 receiving yards, and eight receiving touchdowns.

With two great wide receivers, the Patriots secondary is going to be challenged by Minnesota. While the Vikings certainly have a great passing attack, they don’t run the ball often or all that well. Even though it is hard to win in New England in a passing shootout, that is likely how the Vikings are going to try and pull off the upset.
