The New England Patriots were able to keep their winning streak going with a big win on Sunday Night Football.
With the New England Patriots riding a big winning streak, they were able to keep it going against the Green Bay Packers.
Since the Packers were town, a lot of the talk prior to the game was about Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. As two of the best quarterbacks of all-time, it was certainly great to see them on the field facing off.
In this showdown, however, Brady was able to get the win. Both quarterbacks certainly played well in the game, but neither were able to eclipse the 300-yard passing mark like many would have thought heading into the showdown.
Brady was able to total 294 passing yards and one passing touchdown. On the other side, Rodgers totaled 259 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. The difference in this game came on the defensive side of the ball, as the Patriots were able to hold the Packers to just 17 points.
At a key moment in the game, the Patriots were able to force a fumble with the Packers driving and the scored tied. If not for this turnover, we might be talking about a potential win for the Packers.
Without Sony Michel, the Patriots also received a spark from Cordarrelle Patterson, who was able to run for 61 yards on the ground with a touchdown.
With the win, the Patriots are 7-2 on the season and 5-0 at home. This is the sixth straight win for the Patriots, as the 1-2 start seems like an eternity ago. Next up for the Patriots will be a matchup against the Tennessee Titans on the road before their bye week. With another win in primetime, the Patriots are certainly shaping up to be on the best teams in the league once again.
