Patriots Rumors: Rob Gronkowski intends to play vs Buffalo Bills
Recent New England Patriots rumors involve tight end Rob Gronkowski, who has all intentions of playing in Week 8.
Recent New England Patriots rumors will make fans happy. Patriots rumors this week involve tight end, Rob Gronkowski.
Gronkowski missed the Week 7 matchup in Soldier Field against the Chicago Bears. Gronkowski did not even travel with the team, as he battled a back injury. This week, Gronkowski is once again listed as questionable, but that doesn’t seem to be stopping him.
According to Doug Kyed of NESN, Gronkowski intends to play against the Buffalo Bills in Week 8 on Monday Night Football. The Bills are Gronkowski’s hometown team and he has every intention to be on the field against them.
"“Yeah,” Gronkowski said. “I expect to, yes, unless they tell me no.”"
After missing practice on Wednesday, Gronkowski got in some work on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. He was reportedly dealing with back spasms but is feeling better.

"“I feel good,” Gronkowski said. “Just doing everything that I need to do. Whatever the training staff — whatever I can do out on the field. Whatever coaches ask me to do, just taking it day by day, one step at a time to get back on the field.”"
While Gronkowski wants to play, there is a chance that he is held out. While nothing is guaranteed in professional sports, a victory against the Bills is about as close as you can get as a guarantee.
Buffalo possesses a historically bad offense that has only gotten worse in recent weeks. With Josh Allen sidelined by injury, Derek Anderson has stepped into the starting quarterback spot. Just two weeks ago, Anderson was out of the league.
In addition to the underwhelming quarterback play, star running back, LeSean McCoy, has been battling injury as well. Without McCoy, there aren’t many weapons for the Patriots to worry about.
As a result, the Patriots should consider resting Gronkowski. Half the season remains to be played. If the Patriots want to contend again, having a healthy Gronkowski would help. If there are any chances Gronkowski could suffer a setback, the Patriots have to express caution.
Getting Gronkowski to 100 percent healthy should be the goal for New England, not getting him healthy enough to face the lowly Bills.
