With Week 8 of the fantasy football season here, what can we expect from New England Patriots wide receiver, Julian Edelman?

The return of wide receiver Julian Edelman has been a great thing for the New England Patriots. Since serving his four-game suspension, Edelman has come back and shown little to no rust after missing so much time.

During his suspension, the Patriots offense was really struggling. However, since returning, the Patriots are undefeated, and Edelman being on the field certainly plays a part in that. So far in three games, Edelman has totaled 16 receptions, 147 receiving yards, and two receiving touchdowns. While he hasn’t had one of those 10-catch games yet, Edelman has been effective for the Patriots so far this season.

Due to the Patriots having a good amount of weapons in the passing attack now, Edelman isn’t going to be asked to do nearly as much as he was in the past. However, he still has the trust of Brady on third down, and has also been utilized a bit more in the red zone so far.

Against opposing wide receivers in fantasy this season, the Bills haven’t been hurt too bad, as they have allowed the 4th-fewest points. However, the Patriots are expected to score a lot in this one, and they will surely be moving the ball through the air to do it.

Due to Rob Gronkowski’s health still being a bit unclear, that could have an impact on Edelman’s stat line for fantasy. After being limited in practice, we will assume that Gronkowski will be on the field on Monday night after missing last week.

Even with Gronkowski, Edelman will still likely be the most targeted player at wide receiver or tight end for the Patriots. However, White will likely get more targets out of the backfield if recent weeks are any indication.

Projection: Five receptions, 65 receiving yards, one touchdown.
