New England Patriots: Week 8 fantasy projection for James White
By Nick Ziegler
In Week 8, what can we expect from New England Patriots running back, James White, in fantasy football?
With Week 8 of the regular season already here, the New England Patriots will be facing off against one of their division rivals on Monday Night Football.
Since this is a primetime game in Buffalo, the crowd will surely be wild, despite the Bills not being all that great this season. For New England, this game should be their fifth straight win, but anything can happen on the road against a division opponent.
While the Patriots did win against the Chicago Bears, they did suffer a big loss when Sony Michel left the game early with an injury. After being twisted awkwardly and fumbling the ball, it looked like Michel’s season was going to be over. However, the Patriots received some great news, as he did suffer a major injury, and is being listed as week-to-week.
With Michel out, the Patriots are going to be relying even more on James White out of the backfield. White has played really well for the Patriots this season, as he has arguably been the best weapon for Tom Brady this season.
In the last four games, White has totaled at least 50 receiving yards in each game and has totaled four receiving touchdowns in that span as well. While White is known more as a receiver, he has been effective on the ground with a 4.7 yards per carry average
While the Bills has shockingly done well against opposing quarterbacks in fantasy, they have not fared well on the ground against opposing running backs. They currently have allowed the 9th most points to opposing running backs.
Since Michel will be out against the Bills, White should see an uptick in carries along with Kenjon Barner being involved in the running game.
