With Week 7 of the fantasy football season here, what can we expect from New England Patriots running back, Sony Michel.

One of the real bright spots for the New England Patriots the past few weeks has been running back, Sony Michel.

While Michel’s rookie season didn’t get off to the start that he would have like, missing the entire preseason and Week 1, he has really found his groove now. Since the injury to Rex Burkhead, the Patriots have committed to Michel on the ground, and it has paid dividends.

For the past three weeks, Michel has been one of the best running backs in the NFL, as he has totaled over 95 rushing yards in each game. The production on the ground for Michel has helped the Patriots offensive immensely, as he has provided balance to the offense.

In a great matchup against the Chiefs last week, Michel did not disappoint for his fantasy owners. He was able to total 106 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in a big win for the Patriots.

While Michel and the Patriots rushing offense has been rolling, they will be facing one of the best run defenses in the league this coming week. The Chicago Bears have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs this season, and this will be a difficult opponent for Michel.

The Patriots have been committed to running Michel about 20 times per game the last three weeks, which is good for his floor in terms of points. However, it’s hard to imagine that he will be able to reach the 100-yard plateau this week on the road. The encouraging thing for Michel was that the Patriots were comfortable handing the ball off to him on the goal-line against the Chiefs. Getting a touchdown against the Bears would certainly make for a good fantasy day for Michel, and he has scored four touchdowns in the last three games.

Even though the matchup is far from ideal, Michel has earned being a starter on all fantasy teams the last few weeks. If he can find the end zone against the Bears, he should have a fine week for his owners.

Projection: 70 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown.
