New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, landed on the Pro Football Focus team of the week.

The New England Patriots were able to have a big game on Sunday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs. It was supposed to be a high scoring game when these two teams met, and it certainly lived up to that.

Recently, Pro Football Focus named the top players at each position for their team of the week. At quarterback, it was Tom Brady who got the nod. Brady was certainly deserving of being the named to the Team of the Week, as he totaled 340 passing yards, one passing touchdown, and also one rushing touchdown.

As the quarterback of the week, here’s what Pro Football Focus had to say about Brady.

"Patrick Mahomes had been writing the headlines so far this season but Tom Brady reminded us why he’s still among the best in the league with a vintage performance on Sunday Night Football. He was clinical when the Chiefs couldn’t get pressure on him, completing 21-of-29 passes for 300 yards, but even when they were able to get pressure he still got it done, with his lone touchdown of the evening coming when a pressure was recorded."

There is no understating how important this game on Sunday Night Football was for both the Patriots and the Chiefs. The Chiefs were clearly coming into New England with the mission of trying to prove to the Patriots and the NFL that they are the top dog in the AFC. However, New England was out to prove that they are still the team to beat.

Also, there was certainly a little bit of a battle individually between Mahomes and Brady. Mahomes has deservingly received a lot of praise this season, but Brady came out looking to show that this conference is still his for the time being.

While Mahomes did play well in the second half for the Chiefs, the two interceptions were costly in a big game like this. Giving a good team like the Patriots extra opportunities can lead to a loss, and that’s exactly what happened.

In addition to Brady, there were a number of other players from this game that made the Team of the Week, as Kareem Hunt, Tyreek Hill, and Shaq Mason were all selected. These teams won’t meet again in the regular season, but a showdown in the playoffs seems likely after what we saw in Week 6.
