2. Sony Michel Show premiering in primetime?

It can be safe to say that because of the return of Julian Edelman, that the New England Patriots offense won’t focus so much on the running game in the coming weeks. It is not that they will abandon it all together but they will not rely on running the football.

Last night was evident of that as the offense only ran the ball a total of 23 times (18 by Michel, 2 by White and 3 by Brady). Last week Michel ran the ball 25 times against the Miami Dolphins but this week was very different. Michel was only called upon when needed and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels did not call for a lot 1st down running plays like he did last week.

When the game was over, Sony Michel ran the ball 18 times for 98 yards and one touchdown even though he was not called upon to run the ball so many times as in week’s past. So it may be safe to assume that the Sony Michel show was on last night but he had some co-stars alongside him.
