As we head into Week 5 of the fantasy football season, what can we expect from New England Patriots running Sony Michel?

The New England Patriots will be facing the Indianapolis Colts on a short week on Thursday Night Football, and they will be seeking to move to 3-2 on the season.

After some tough weeks for fantasy football owners of the Patriots, New England was able to have their best performance of the season against the Miami Dolphins. The Patriots defeated the Dolphins by a score of 38-7, and it was a really balanced performance by the team.

In the win, one of the top performers for the Patriots was running back, Sony Michel. While it was not an easy start to his NFL career with injuries in the offseason, Michel had his breakout performance against the Dolphins.

Against Miami, Michel totaled 112 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. This was certainly the type of game that the Patriots wanted to see from their first-round pick, as Michel looked really good in Week 4.

After his breakout performance, Michel is poised for another good game in a favorable matchup against the Colts. With New England being pretty large favorites, this should be a win. If New England is once again in control of the game, that could result in a good amount of work for Michel on the ground.

The one concern for Michel this week would be that it is a short week with him coming off a career-high in carries. However, the Patriots don’t have a lot behind him and James White at the running back position, so Michel might have to carry it 20 times once again.

Even though he hasn’t shown much in the passing game yet, Michel’s game against the Dolphins could be a sign of things to come. Expect another solid performance for him in Week 5 against the Colts.

Projection: 21 carries, 105 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown.
