3.  Will the defense show up again?

After a poor showing against the Detroit Lions giving up 26 points, missing tackles and getting little to no pressure on the quarterback the New England Patriots’ defense had their way with the Miami offense. They held the Dolphins to 172 total yards including 116 yards through the air and 56 yards on the ground. They forced 2 turnovers (an interception and a fumble). One telling stat that showed how dominant the defense played on Sunday was 3rd down conversions, or lack thereof. Miami went 3 out of 11 on third down and only picked up 11 total first downs all game.

Can New England do the same thing Thursday night against the Colts? Well, Indianapolis’ offense is not as strong as it has been in year’s past despite having Andrew Luck at the helm. They rank 18th in total points per game (23.5), 24th in yards per game (337.0), 16th in pass yards (265.0) and 29th in rush yards (72.0). This could be the perfect recipe for the Patriots defense to have yet another successful week on defense to help earn another victory.
