New England Patriots: Josh Gordon active against Miami Dolphins
By Nick Ziegler
The New England Patriots will have Josh Gordon making his debut against the Miami Dolphins.
With a 1-2 record, the New England Patriots will be getting a boost, as Josh Gordon is expected to make his debut.
For the past two weeks, the offense of the Patriots has really struggled. With an inability to move the ball effectively downfield, this is an offense that is in desperate need of a spark. While Julian Edelman will be back next week, the Patriots can’t afford to lose this game to the Miami Dolphins.
Coming into Sunday, the Dolphins have a 3-0 record, and have control of the AFC East. The Patriots have owned this division for years, and this is a game that they have to have early in the season.
Even though the Patriots haven’t looked good the last two weeks, having Gordon in the lineup should help make things easier for others.
Now that the Patriots have Gordon and Gronkowski in the lineup, it should help open things up for Tom Brady. Coming off one of the worst games in recent memory against the Lions, Brady will certainly be hungry to get a win.
In recent weeks, Gronkowski has been the focus of all of the opposing defenses. Taking him out of the game has resulted in the Patriots have to do a lot of check-down passes to James White. Unfortunately, Chris Hogan and Phillip Dorsett haven’t created the necessary separation against their matchups. However, adding Gordon will make their matchups even easier, as he should be facing the No.1 cornerbacks from here on out.
The Patriots have been awfully banged up this season, but having Gordon and Gronkowski healthy should help their offense. With 1-3 staring them in the face, expect a good showing from the Patriots against the Dolphins to avoid that.
