In Week 3, the New England Patriots can ruin their former defensive coordinators season.

It was a tough Week 2 for the New England Patriots on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Facing a team looking for revenge, the Patriots were unable to weather the storm in Jacksonville.

The Jaguars were able to jump out to an early lead in the game, and they never looked back. Blake Bortles was able to have one of the best games of his career for the Jaguars and the defense showed up with a great performance as always.

With their first loss of the season in the rear view mirror, the Patriots will be looking ahead to a showdown with the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football. This offseason, the Lions hired former Patriots defensive coordinator, Matt Patricia, to become their head coach.

So far, it has not been a good start for Patricia as a head coach. In his first game, the Lions were embarrassed at home by the New York Jets. The Jets defense looked like they knew exactly what the Lions were doing on offense, and that resulted in one of the worst games in the career of Matthew Stafford.

Last week, the Lions had a much better showing against the San Francisco 49ers and Jimmy Garoppolo, but they still came up short. With a 0-3 record staring them in the face, Sunday Night Football is a must-win for Patricia and the Lions.

As the former defensive coordinator of the Patriots, Patricia certainly knows the personnel well for the Patriots. While New England will surely make sure their calls are different from last season, Patricia might be able to pick up on some things.

While the Lions are certainly hungry for a win, so are the Patriots. After being embarrassed by their standards against the Jaguars, the Patriots will be seeking a win to avoid going under .500. Sunday Night Football will certainly be an interesting game, as the Patriots can end the season of the Lions this week.
