New England Patriots: Week 2 Fantasy projection for Tom Brady
By Nick Ziegler
With Week 1 of the fantasy football season in the books, what can we expect from New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, in Week 2?
The New England Patriots were able to get off to a nice start in Week 1 of the NFL season. As expected, the Patriots offense did quite well against the Houston Texans defense, as they scored 27 points.
While 27 points is certainly a good number for the Patriots and will win them a lot of games, it could have been more if not for some turnovers by New England. For fantasy owners, most were likely happy with what they saw out of their players on the Patriots.
Both Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski delivered with big games, and Phillip Dorsett might have cemented himself as a solid player for fantasy football this season. In Week 2, the Patriots will be facing a more daunting defense in the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In Week 1, the Jaguars did a very good job on defense against the New York Giants, and this will be arguably the toughest defense the Patriots face this season. However, as one of the top fantasy quarterbacks in the league, Tom Brady will, of course, have the potential to have a good game.
Against the Texans, Brady totaled 277 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and the one interception. While it wasn’t a perfect showing from Brady, it was a pretty good opening week.
Despite the Jaguars having a very good defense, Brady was able to have a very strong game in the playoffs last season. In the win, Brady totaled two touchdown passes and 290 passing yards. Brady is one of the few players in the NFL that is truly matchup proof in fantasy, and he will likely be able to still have a good game on Sunday.
