5. James White

The Patriots are dealing with a number of injuries to their backfield. Sony Michel and Rex Burkhead were both banged up during training camp. While Michel and Burkhead are expected to see heavy usage during the season, their workload for Week 1 could be scaled back. As a result, James White becomes a good option in all fantasy football formats.

White is locked in as the Patriots pass down back. However, he could see a little more work on early downs given the injury concerns with Michel and Burkhead.

White will have a role on an almost weekly basis given his role in the passing game. He makes for a solid FLEX play almost every week given his usage, but this week he could push for RB2 status if given some more rushing attempts.

Houston has had a solid defense against running backs, but White should still find success in Week 1 as his workload should be increased.
