The 2018 Fantasy Football season is finally here! What can owners expect from New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, in Week 1?

In Week 1, the New England Patriots will be facing off against the Houston Texans at home. This is a very appealing matchup for fantasy football owners, as there is a lot of offensive talent in this game.

For the Texans, the return of DeShaun Watson instantly makes them a much better offensive team, as he was playing very well last season prior to getting injured. With DeAndre Hopkins on the outside, that duo can be one of the best in the league this coming season.

Lacing them up once again this season for the Patriots under center will be Tom Brady. Coming off an MVP season, Brady will be seeking to win back-to-back MVPs and get back to the Super Bowl.

As the MVP, Brady had a very good season last year statistically. In 2017, Brady totaled 4,577 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions. It was a very strong year for Brady, and he certainly helped his fantasy owners last year.

This season, Brady is once again expected to be one of the top quarterbacks in fantasy, as many had him ranked second behind Aaron Rodgers. Even though they aren’t in the same division, the Patriots and Texans have been familiar with each other over the past few years, and Brady performed very well against them last season.

In Week 3 last year, Brady totaled 378 passing yards and five passing touchdowns in one of his best games of the season. For fantasy purposes, that equals a monster week. While Brady likely won’t have a five-touchdown game this time around, he should be able to have a solid first week of the season.

Protecting Brady will be key this week, as the Texans still have a very good pass-rush. Also, we will see how Brady performs with some limited weapons at wide receiver with Julian Edelman being suspended. It likely won’t be his best fantasy game of the season, but it should be a good one.

Projection: 280 passing yards and three touchdown passes.
