New England Patriots wide receiver, Kenny Britt, recently opened up about his nagging hamstring injury.

One of the concerns for the New England Patriots heading into the 2018 season is at the wide receiver position. After trading Brandin Cooks and letting Danny Amendola walk in free agency this offseason, we knew the unit would have a different look.

This offseason, we have seen injuries hit the wide receiver corps for the Patriots rather hard. Both Jordan Matthews and Malcolm Mitchell were cut this offseason because of injuries, as the Patriots are trying to find healthy bodies at the position.

One of the players that the team is hoping will contribute this season is Kenny Britt. Last season, Britt was cut by the Cleveland Browns and the Patriots signed him late in the season. Even though he didn’t do much for the team last season, he is certainly comfortable in the offense.

However, Britt has been dealing with a hamstring injury and hasn’t been able to practice or play in the preseason. Recently, he spoke with Zack Cox of NESN.com about the injury.

"“You never know with a hamstring,” the 29-year-old said. “One day you’ll feel good, and then something’s in the air and (it’s) popping. And other days, you might feel bad and then get the fastest time you ran out there. So it’s really a feel thing day in and day out.”"

Considering Britt had a very disappointing 2017 season, he was certainly hungry to get out and prove himself this season. Unfortunately, hamstring injuries are very tricky to deal with, and that has been the case for Britt.

With a need at the wide receiver position, the Patriots could certainly use Britt on the field for Week 1. Since Julian Edelman will be out, Brady and the Patriots’ offense can use all the help they can get.

As a 1,000-yard receiver with the Rams in 2016, Britt has shown that he can be a very good player in the NFL. However, this hamstring issue needs to go away for him to be able to prove that. The Patriots still have two preseason games left to play before the start of the season, and it would be very beneficial for Britt if he is able to get some reps before the season starts.
