One of the surprises for the Patriots in Week 1 of the preseason was the absence of Tom Brady. It was announced that Brady was dealing with a minor back issue and he was held out. Missing the first week of the preseason isn’t too big of a deal for a veteran like Brady, but it certainly caused some concern about his back.

However, Brady has been practicing since then, and the back appears to be a non-issue. Against the Eagles, Brady expects to be back in the lineup, and that is a good thing for the Patriots. With all of the new faces at wide receiver in New England, building chemistry with them is important.

The Patriots’ offense has had some issues in practice with Brady and the wide receivers being off. While there is a lot of time for that to be fixed, getting game action is a good opportunity to expedite the process.

Since this is the second week of the preseason, the starters for New England will likely be playing for about a quarter. That is always subject to change depending on how they look, but Brady appears like he could use some reps with all of the wide receivers. When Brady is in the game, expect the Patriots to be throwing quite a bit, as he will likely be looking to spread it around a bit.
