The New England Patriots will be playing the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday in Week 2 of the preseason. Who are three players to watch?

In Week 2 of the preseason, the New England Patriots will be playing their second and final home game of the preseason against the Philadelphia Eagles. This is, of course, is a rematch of the Super Bowl last season, but it won’t be meaning nearly as much.

The Patriots were able to start off their preseason on a positive note, as they defeated the Washington Redskins by a score of 26-17. In the win, it was the running backs who stood out, as the Patriots scored three touchdowns on the ground.

For the Eagles, their first preseason game didn’t go as well, as they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Eagles didn’t play either Nick Foles or Carson Wentz in that game, as it was a lot of Nate Sudfield under center for Philadelphia.

While Wentz is still recovering from his knee injury and aiming for a Week 1 return, Nick Foles is expected to be back under center for the Eagles in Week 2. Foles was the hero of the Super Bowl for the Eagles last season, and the Patriots would surely like to test out their defense against him for a few series on Thursday.

As we get closer to the important third week of the preseason, we should see the starters and key players a bit more this week. With a few storylines heading into the game, here are three players to watch for the Patriots against the Eagles.
