Left Guard

Joe Thuney has been an effective guard in New England’s system. In his three years with the team, Thuney has steadily improved as a player. He played in back to back Super Bowls, earning Coach Belichick’s trust through work ethic and efficiency.

Although not the most athletic at his position, Thuney gets the job done with his solid run blocking coupled with his ability to widen running lanes for the backs.

The 6 foot 5 lineman can also quickly process schemes and can adjust to stunts as well as any changes made at the line of scrimmage.

Thuney has displayed some struggles with consistency throughout the season, in addition to having trouble keeping up with more powerful, athletic defenders in the NFL.

Thuney’s surgery during the offseason could affect his performance going into the regular season, nevertheless, Wynn could be the logical replacement if Thuney struggles at the on-start.
