7. Danny Shelton, Defensive Tackle

Another offseason acquisition brings nose tackle Danny Shelton to the Patriots. The 24-year old has size, power and formidable work ethic, all attributes that bode well for him as he transitions into the Patriot way.

Shelton could be key in developing a stronger run defense. The 335-pound big man can close gaps with quickness, he also engages linemen and can shed them for tackles.

He has the potential to vastly improve under the coaching and guidance of Belichick, seeing as his last season with the Browns was less productive.

During the 2017 season, Shelton had 20 total tackles, 34 combined tackles with six stuffs through 14 games.

Despite the drop-off, Shelton’s production should improve with the Patriots, due to the winning culture he will be entering.
