The New England Patriots coaching staff landed at the top of Bleacher Report’s rankings.

The New England Patriots have been the most successful team in the NFL over the last two decades. A big reason for that success is the coaching staff.

As head coach and the quasi-general manager, Bill Belichick has led the Patriots to a ton of success. He demands attention to detail, which is a big part of the Patriots success. Despite some reported tensions growing within the organization, Belichick managed to keep things in order enough to reach the Super Bowl in February.

While the Patriots lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 52, they should be contenders once again this season. While Belichick is the head man, he does not get it done alone. The Patriots have an impressive staff overall in addition to Belichick.

That is why Bleacher Report ranked the Patriots coaching staff atop their coaching staff rankings. The Patriots landed in the No. 1 spot, and rightfully so.

Belichick is arguably the greatest head coach in NFL history. In addition to being a great head coach, Belichick also has some great coordinators and position coaches.

Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is one of the best in the business. He is an innovative mind and the Patriots are lucky to still have him on the staff. He left to be the head coach of the Denver Broncos from 2009-2010 before being fired and coached with the St. Louis Rams for one season before returning to the Patriots.

This offseason, the Patriots looked like they were losing him again. The Indianapolis Colts hired him, but he backed out to remain with the Patriots. New England wasn’t as lucky with defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, who left to be the head coach of the Detroit Lions. However, the defense is where Belichick focuses most on, so the loss isn’t as damning as McDaniels would have been

Also, offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia is one of the best in the business. He will have his mettle tested this season as the Patriots look to replace long-time left tackle, Nate Solder. Solder left in free agency, signing a monster contract with the New York Giants that made him the highest paid offensive lineman in the NFL at the time.
