Recent New England Patriots rumors involve Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, who are not at OTA’s but spending time at TB12.

There have been a lot of New England Patriots rumors in recent days surrounding quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski. Brady and Gronkowski have been absent from any Patriots team activities thus far this offseason, which has raised some eyebrows.

Brady and Gronkowski missed the first two phases of the Patriots’ offseason plans and were not present at the beginning of phase three this week. The organized team activities are voluntary, but New England usually has stellar attendance at them. That is not the case this year.

In addition to Brady and Gronkowski, there were eight other players absent from OTA’s this week. Brady and Gronkowski, however, garnered most of the headlines.

They are the two most recognizable players on the team and their biggest stars. Both are reportedly looking to restructure their contracts, which is part of the reason they have been away from the team. Another reason is the strain that Brady’s trainer, Alex Guerrero has caused.

ESPN’s Sam Wickersham wrote a bombshell article a few months ago detailing the deteriorating relationship between head coach Bill Belichick, Brady and Gronkowski. Brady’s trainer was in the middle of it.

However, it doesn’t sound like those problems are going away. According to Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald, Brady and Gronkowski have been getting treatment at TB12 by Guerrero.

According to Guregian, Brady and Gronkowski were both there getting treatment on Monday and Tuesday, the first two days of OTA’s that the duo skipped. If that is indeed true, the tension isn’t going to go away any time soon.

The tension was raised last month according to Guregian. She reported that Belichick chastised Gronkowski in front of his teammates for being a TB12 client.

While some of the Wickersham article was tough to believe, there seems to be some truth to some of it. There is a clear disconnect between three of the most important people in the locker room.
