New England Patriots: Colin Cowherd ranks roster in his Top 10
By Nick Ziegler
Colin Cowherd of Fox Sports recently ranked the Top 10 rosters in the NFL. Where did the New England Patriots rank?
The New England Patriots will be coming into the 2018 season with the goal of getting their sixth Super Bowl in franchise history. After a very entertaining game in the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Patriots went through a lot of changes this offseason.
Of the notable departures, the Patriots really took a hit on the offensive side of the ball this offseason. New England ended up seeing Dion Lewis, Danny Amendola, and Nate Solder all leave in free agency, and replacing them will not be easy.
However, the Patriots were able to make some good moves this offseason to replace the key players lost on offense, and also they made some nice additions on the defensive side of the ball to hopefully fix some of the things that were exposed against the Eagles.
Recently, Colin Cowherd of Fox Sports ranked every roster in the NFL. For the New England Patriots, they did crack his Top 10, but they came in at 10th.
Seeing the Patriots ranked so low is a bit surprising, as they are still the favorites to win the AFC this coming season. However, there are a lot of really talented teams in the NFC that could cause problems for the Patriots.
On Cowherd’s list, the Eagles deservingly come in first as the defending Super Bowl Champions. Despite winning the Super Bowl, the Eagles didn’t really lose a whole lot like teams coming off a Super Bowl win generally do.
In the Top 5, it was very surprising to see that the San Diego Chargers come in ranked second. While the Chargers have a good team, they did miss the playoffs last season in a somewhat weak AFC.

With Cowherd ranking the Patriots 10th, it says that he doesn’t believe a lot in the overall depth of the team. However, with Tom Brady and some other great players, the Patriots will likely be a lot better record-wise than 10th in 2018.
