Miami Dolphins No. 11: Alabama S, Minkah Fitzpatrick

While the Miami Dolphins might have been interested in taking a quarterback with the 11th overall pick, they were as aggressive as other teams in trying to move up to take Josh Allen or Josh Rosen. The Buffalo Bills were able to trade up to seven and the Cardinals moved up to the pick before the Dolphins to take Rosen. As shown by the Cardinals moving up, they clearly believed that the Dolphins were going to take Rosen.

Even though the Dolphins didn’t get a quarterback, they were in as bad of a quarterback situation as some of the other teams with Ryan Tannehill still on the roster. Since there were four quarterbacks taken in the Top 10, that left the Dolphins with some very talented players to choose from.

With the 11th overall pick, the Dolphins got one of the best safeties in the draft in Minkah Fitzpatrick from Alabama. Fitzpatrick will provide the Dolphins will a very talented safety that can do it all on the football field. As a player that was certainly a Top 10 talent, the Dolphins did well here at 11. Even though they just missed on a quarterback, they did add one of the best defensive players in the draft.

Grade: B+
