The New England Patriots won’t have too many needs to fill in this year’s NFL draft. They traded for veteran cornerback Jason McCourty to lessen the blow of Malcolm Butler’s free agency departure and have 2017 third-round pick Antonio Garcia in the fold to replace former starting left tackle Nate Solder.
The Patriots also have three key starters returning from season-ending injuries, including linebacker Dont’a Hightower, right tackle Marcus Cannon, and wide receiver Julian Edelman.
Still, it never hurts to have depth, and as last season showed, the injury bug can bite at any time.
