SF No. 9 Overall Pick: Georgia LB, Roquan Smith

To start the season, it looked like it was going to be another long year for the San Francisco 49ers. However, they made a trade during the season to acquire Jimmy Garoppolo and instantly changed the franchise. Coming from New England with a lot of hype, Garoppolo was able to have a perfect record as a starter and looks like he is ready to be the face of the franchise for the 49ers.

Even though it looked like the 49ers were destined to have one of the top picks in the draft midway through the season, the 49ers were able to go on an impressive winning streak at the end of the season.

Despite playing really well at the end of the season, the 49ers have the ninth pick in the draft and will be able to add another solid player to their improving team. With the ninth overall pick, the 49ers will be addressing the defensive side of the ball by adding one of the top linebackers in the draft in Roquan Smith. Coming out of Georgia, Smith is in a good position to help the 49ers right away and he could be one of the pieces that put them in the playoff hunt this next season.
