PHI No. 32 Overall Pick: LSU RB, Derrius Guice

The Eagles ended their Super Bowl drought with a victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52. As a result, they will be making the final pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. With the No. 32 overall pick, the Eagles will add another weapon to their backfield, selecting LSU running back, Derrius Guice.

Guice was productive in two seasons with LSU, taking over the backfield from 2017 No. 4 overall pick, Leonard Fournette. Guice totaled 3,074 yards on 471 carries in three seasons, scoring 29 touchdowns. While Guice gets the job done on the ground, he has room to grow in the passing game.

Guice caught 32 passes for 250 yards and three scores. That is the biggest area of concern for him right now, but that is why Philadelphia would be a good landing spot for him. They have other running backs, such as Corey Clement, that can handle the passing duties. Guice can help fill the void left by LeGarrette Blount, who signed with the Detroit Lions in free agency.

With Ajayi potentially hitting free agency next offseason, Guice could provide the Eagles with a long-term answer at the running back position. If they are able to develop his skills in the passing game, he can become an every-down back at the next level.
