CIN No.21: Louisville CB Jaire Alexander

With the 21st overall pick, the Cincinnati Bengals will be on the clock looking to improve after a disappointing season. Due to a trade with the Buffalo Bills, the Bengals will be on the clock later in the first round with the Bills’ first-round pick. The Bengals were able to acquire offensive tackle Cordy Glenn in exchange for swapping first-round picks, as the team needed help on the offensive line.

Since the Bengals got Glenn from the Bills, they might look toward using this pick on a cornerback, as that could be a need for them next season. With Darqueze Dennard scheduled to be a free agent after the season, he could be poised to get a big money deal in the offseason, and the Bengals might not be willing to pay him. In addition to Dennard, Dre Kirkpatrick is already getting paid a lot of money, and his play last season was not very good. Due to this, he could be a cap casualty in the near future.

Since cornerback could be a need soon for the Bengals, they will use the 21st overall pick on cornerback Jaire Alexander. Even though it isn’t a pressing need now, this would be a good pick for the 2019 season is Dennard and Kirkpatrick are gone.
