SEA No. 18 Overall Pick: Notre Dame OT, Mike McGlinchey

The Seattle Seahawks offensive line is a mess. They have struggled to find any continuity along the unit for multiple seasons. They tried a quick fix last season, trading for disgruntled Houston Texans offensive tackle, Duane Brown.

Brown alone is not enough. As a result, the Seahawks will use a high draft pick to continue improving the unit. With the No. 18 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Seahawks will select Notre Dame offensive tackle, Mike McGlinchey.

McGlinchey is the second Notre Dame offensive linemen selected in the first round. McGlinchey was a consensus All-American in 2017, playing left tackle for the Fighting Irish the past two seasons. At the NFL, he should be flipped to right tackle, where his skill set is a better fit. However, given his experience in college, he should be able to help out at left tackle if a need arises.

Last season Russell Wilson bailed the Seahawks out on a consistent basis. He was running for his life most of the season, as the offensive line was a mess. Wilson made the most of it with his ability to make plays with his legs and throw on the run, but getting him some protection would be nice.

Improving the offensive line could also lead to an improved running game. The Seahawks were at their best when they had a dominant run game to lean on. Getting the offensive line up to snuff will help get the team back to that.
