ARI No.15: Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield

Sitting at 15 in the NFL Draft will be the Arizona Cardinals. After some strong seasons in recent years, the Cardinals look like they are getting close to being in a rebuild after missing the playoffs the past few seasons. With Carson Palmer injured a lot the past few seasons, the Cardinals suffered on the field.

This offseason, they were able to bring in Sam Bradford to replace Palmer for the short-term. However, Bradford has had a ton of injuries in his career and isn’t a long-term option for them at the position. With the 15th overall pick, the Cardinals will be able to get a young quarterback in Baker Mayfield.

After winning the Heisman at Oklahoma, Mayfield is one of the most interesting prospects in coming out of college. While he has a ton of talent, there are some off the field issues that might keep him from being drafted in the top 10. Talent wise, the Cardinals would be getting a steal here, however, they will have to hope that he has matured off the field or this could be a wasted pick. If Mayfield stays out of trouble and is focused, the Cardinals will have gotten a great talent in the middle of the draft.
