MIA No.11: Washington DT Vita Vea

After a disappointing 2017 season, the Miami Dolphins made some big changes this offseason. One of the most notable ones was them letting go of Ndamukong Suh. Even though Suh was let go by the Dolphins, he is still one of the best defensive linemen in the league. However, he was making a ton of money, and that is tough to pay for a defensive tackle.

With the 11th overall pick, the Dolphins could go in a few different directions. Depending on where the franchise stands on Ryan Tannehill at quarterback, they could look to draft a player at that position. However, we will have them taking Suh’s replacement in Vita Vea from Washington.

In three seasons at Washington, Vea was able to prove himself as one of the best interior defenders in the country. In addition to being a great run stuffer, Vea also was able to get after the quarterback last season, as he totaled 3.5 sacks. Being able to be a good pass rusher from the inside is not an easy thing to do in the NFL. However, Vea appears like he should be a three-down player in the NFL, and that would be a good replacement for Suh.
