Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame

Another potential need for the New England Patriots is at the tackle position. This offseason, the Patriots saw left tackle Nate Solder sign with the New York Giants. The decision for Solder to leave New England certainly made a lot of sense for him financially.

With Solder gone, the Patriots now have a bit of a question mark at one of the most important positions on the field. As the blindside protector of Tom Brady, left tackle is extremely important for the Patriots.

As the draft approaches, the Patriots have received some good news about the health of Antonio Garcia. Garcia was selected in the third round of the NFL Draft last season, but blood clot issues kept him from playing last season. However, he does appear to be ready to go for next season. While he might be ready, the Patriots could elect to draft some insurance with LaAdrian Waddle and Garcia as the two most likely options at left tackle next season.

Coming out of Notre Dame, Mike McGlinchey is one of the best tackles in the draft this season, and could be available at 23. If the Patriots do believe that tackle is a need still, McGlinchey would be a top option for them.
