The New England Patriots currently hold two picks in the first round of the NFL Draft. Here are a few options for them with the 23rd overall pick.

After losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, the New England Patriots will be looking to get back to the big game next season. Unlike last season, the Patriots have a good amount of draft picks to use this year, including two in the first round.

This offseason, the Patriots were able to acquire the 23rd overall pick from the Los Angeles Rams in a trade that sent Brandin Cooks to Los Angeles. Cooks played just one season with the Patriots, but he certainly had a good year.

The decision to trade Cooks shouldn’t have come as too much of a surprise, as he was in the final year of his contract. Getting the first round pick in return for Cooks was certainly good value for New England, and now they will be able to draft multiple impact players in the first round.

Even though New England was active this offseason in free agency and making trades, they still do have a few areas of need. While the Patriots do hold their own 31st overall pick, we will take a look at some prospects that should be available when the Patriots are on the clock at 23.

Since it is the New England Patriots, this pick could, of course, be traded on draft, as New England is famous for moving down. If they don’t here are four options for them at 23.
