With Pro Days happening around the country, recent Patriots rumors are that they met with a wide receiver from Penn State.

As the NFL Draft gets closer, Patriots rumors will certainly be heating up, as the team plans for the big day. So far this offseason, the New England Patriots have addressed some of their needs, however, the draft is a crucial day for every franchise.

The Patriots have been doing their due diligence when it comes to scouting at Pro Days, as they look to improve for the future. After making some signings in free agency, the Patriots still have some needs.

On the offensive side of the ball, getting a quarterback will likely be one of their priorities. Since the Patriots traded Jimmy Garoppolo, the need for an heir to replace Tom Brady one day is important.

In addition to getting a quarterback, the Patriots could also look to draft a tackle and running back on the offensive side of the ball. On defense, the Patriots will likely look to add a cornerback, linebacker, and possibly an edge rusher.

Recently, Mike Loyko of NEPatriotsDraft.com reported that the Patriots met with Penn State wide receiver, DaeSean Hamilton.

In four seasons at Penn State, Hamilton was a very productive player for the school. He was able to total 214 receptions, 2,842 receiving yards, and 18 receiving touchdowns. In his freshman season, Hamilton was able to total 82 receptions and 899 receiving yards, which both ended up being his career-highs in college.

Last season, Hamilton had a nose for the end zone, as he was able to catch nine in his Senior season. At 6’1” and slightly over 200 pounds, Hamilton certainly has the size to be a good wide receiver at the next level.

It is interesting to see the Patriots hold a private meeting with Hamilton, as they are quite deep at the wide receiver position. While things could change before the draft, it would be somewhat shocking to see the Patriots take Hamilton in the middle rounds. However, if they think he could be a special talent, they might pull the trigger.
