Defensive Backfield

Throughout the season teams have tested the Eagles secondary. They are an inexperienced bunch, especially at cornerback. Patrick Robinson is the only cornerback on the roster that has more than three years of experience in the NFL.

At safety, the Eagles are more experienced, led by Malcolm Jenkins and Rodney McLeod. Having that kind of experience at the backend is helpful, but you can be sure that the Patriots will look to exploit the youngsters at cornerback.

On the flip side, the Patriots are chalk full of experience. Malcolm Butler won the Super Bowl XLIX with his interception of Russell Wilson at the goal line. Stephon Gilmore showcased his lockdown ability with an amazing play against the Jaguars in the AFC Championship game.

At safety, the Patriots have versatile veterans Patrick Chung and Devin McCourty, both multiple-time Super Bowl champions. Duron Harmon and Eric Rowe, veterans of five and three seasons respectively, are the youngest regulars in the Patriots defensive backfield.

This is a big advantage that the Patriots have. Their pass defense is battle-tested, while a majority of the Eagles got their first taste of the postseason this year.
