B. . . . SPECIAL TEAMS GRADE

The special teams for the Patriots were solid against the Titans. The only blemish was a missed field goal by Stephen Gostkowski prior to halftime. Gostkowski missed a 53-yard field goal right before halftime. It ended up not costing the Patriots, as they blew the Titans out regardless. Gostkowski did make all five of his extra point attempts without a problem.

Punter Ryan Allen had another strong performance. He was called upon four times, delivering two punts inside the 20 yard-line. He did have one touchback but averaged an impressive 42.3 yards per punt with a long of 57-yards.

What was most important with Allen’s punts was that he gave the coverage team a chance to do their job. Electric return man, Adoree’ Jackson fielded only one punt and returned it for zero yards.

On kick returns Jackson didn’t find much success, either. He had four kick returns, gaining 20.8 yards per return, with a long of only 25 yards.

The Patriots return game didn’t accomplish much either. Dion Lewis gained 27 yards on his sole kick return attempt. Danny Amendola found some success as a punt returner, averaging nine returns on his three attempts.
