FOXBORO, MA – DECEMBER 31: Rob Gronkowski /

2.) Rob Gronkowski

After an injury-plagued 2016 season, Rob Gronkowski returned on a mission this season. Even without Gronkowski in the playoffs last season, the Patriots were still able to accomplish their goals, however, it would have been much easier with him on the field.

Injuries are the only thing capable of slowing down the best tight end in the NFL, and he was able to avoid anything major this season. Gronkowski only missed one game due to injury this season, but he was also out for another due to a suspension. Despite missing two games, Gronkowski led the Patriots in receiving yards, receptions, and receiving touchdowns.

In 2017, Gronkowski totaled 69 receptions, eight receiving touchdowns, and 1,084 receiving yards. It was another outstanding regular season for Gronkowski, and he will certainly be eager for the playoffs.

With Gronkowski healthy heading into the playoffs, the Patriots will have arguably one of the most unguardable weapons in the NFL at their disposal. Of course, Gronkowski will also help the running game a lot as a very good run blocker. In close playoff games, a few first downs on the ground can be the difference between a win and a loss.
