Recent Patriots rumors have emerged about a potential quarterback prospect that they might be interested in the 2018 NFL Draft.

With the 2017 regular season concluding, recent Patriots rumors have been about what their plans might be in the 2018 NFL Draft. Compared to last season, the Patriots will likely have more draft picks, as last year was very uncharacteristic for them.

This season, we saw the Patriots trade both Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett away, which has cleared the way for them to draft a quarterback. New England was able to get a nice return for both players, and they will be in a position to take a quarterback with one of their first picks.

Recently, Eric Galko of SportingNews.com recently wrote that the Patriots have been linked to Washington State quarterback, Luke Falk. Here’s what Galko said about the quarterbacks in the upcoming draft.

"Quarterback/team pairing predictions based on what I’ve heard: Rosen-Giants, Mayfield-Redskins/Broncos, Allen-Steelers, Jackson-Jets, Rudolph-Chargers, White-Bills, Luke Falk-Patriots, Kyle Lauletta-Packers."

Falk was able to build a very impressive resume at Washington State, as he nearly started for four seasons in the Pac-12. Overall, Falk totaled 14,481 passing yards, 119 touchdown passes, and just 38 interceptions.

Despite injuring his wrist in his Senior season, Falk still was able to total 30 touchdown passes. However, Falk did not play against Michigan State in Washington State’s bowl game due to the wrist.

Since Falk isn’t projected to be one of the top quarterbacks in the draft, he should fall down to where the Patriots will have some of their picks. However, prior to the season, Falk was considered to be one of the top quarterback prospects. Depending on how his wrist heals, he could help his draft stock a lot with a strong showing at the NFL Combine.

Even though the Patriots brought in Brian Hoyer to be the backup for Brady, it would be shocking not to see them draft a quarterback fairly early on. Since they had to move Garoppolo, the Patriots lost their quarterback of the future.

Next: James Harrison proves he can still play

Now, they will be looking for another young player to groom. With the physical tools you look for in a quarterback and a good college career, Falk could very well end up being the guy for New England.
