4. Brandin Cooks burns the Raiders for a 64-yard touchdown
Patriots fans have wanted a deep threat for a long time. When Brandin Cooks arrived in Foxborough, it was like a dream come true.
Cooks had already corralled a 54-yard grab in the first half when Brady fired another bomb in the second. The 4.33 speedster cut through Oakland’s secondary like a hot knife through butter. He had five yards on each defender by the time the ball hit his hands, strolling into the end zone for New England’s longest touchdown of the year.
Suddenly, as if all at once, every Patriots fan across the world heaved a sigh of relief. Finally, they had their deep threat.
New England went on to trounce Oakland 33-8 with Cooks hauling in six catches for 149 yards and a score.
