New England Patriots: Chris Hogan expected back for Monday Night Football
By Nick Ziegler
On Monday Night Football, the New England Patriots are expected to have wide receiver Chris Hogan back in the lineup.
The New England Patriots appear like they will be getting a big boost back to their offense on Monday night, as Chris Hogan is expected to return.
Hogan has been out with an injury since October 29th, when the Patriots faced the Los Angeles Chargers. Prior to that, Hogan was having a very nice season for the Patriots once again. In 2017, Hogan has totaled 33 receptions, 458 receiving yards, and five receiving touchdowns.
Despite missing so much time, Hogan is still tied with Brandin Cooks for second on the team in receiving touchdowns. Considering that he has missed over a month, it goes to show how valuable a target Hogan is for the Patriots.
This week, it Hogan was able to return to practice in a limited fashion. However, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, he is expected to play.
The return of Hogan certainly comes at a good time for the Patriots. Against the Dolphins, the Patriots will be without tight end Rob Gronkowski. As arguably their best weapon on offense, replacing his production is not something that one player can do.
Without Gronkowski, Brady is going to have to spread the ball around even more than normal, and he won’t have his always reliable tight end in important situations. Getting Hogan back will provide Brady with another option to throw the ball to, as the Patriots could have been in some trouble if he was out still as well.

After the Pittsburgh Steelers were able to sneak a win out against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football, the Patriots will be attempting to do the same. Since next week will be arguably the biggest game of the season for the Patriots, they must make sure that they handle their business against the Dolphins first.
