New England Patriots News: Tom Brady apologized to Josh McDaniels for his outburst last week against the Buffalo Bills.

Recent New England Patriots news brings us back to last week’s game against the Buffalo Bills. The matchup with an AFC East division rival is always more heated. Divison opponents face each other twice a season, so emotions are high when playing against a rival and familiar opponent.

Sometimes, those emotions boil over on your own sideline. That is exactly what happened for the Patriots between quarterback Tom Brady and offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels.

The Patriots first drive of the game ended after Brady threw an incomplete pass on 3rd-and-11. Ultimately, it ended up not mattering too much as the Patriots won 23-3. However, at the time it drew quite a reaction from Brady.

McDaniels said something to Brady while he was running off the field. Brady didn’t look to take kindly to the words, as he was seen screaming at McDaniels on the sideline.

Whatever McDaniels said to Brady obviously ticked him off. However, cooler heads would prevail as the two were seen sitting next to each other going over plays.

It was a heat of the moment exchange, but one that Brady felt bad about. Brady opened up his weekly press conference apologizing to McDaniels before fielding questions from reporters.

More from Patriots News

"“I want to apologize to Josh for last week in Buffalo. I know our coaches work really hard, and they are responsible for putting us in a great position to succeed. I just want to get that off my chest,” Brady said in opening remarks, before he answered any questions."

Following that opening, Brady was asked if outbursts of that nature are part of the emotions during a football game.

"“Yeah, but a lot of people see it and they think the nature of our relationship might be something like that, but it’s really the exact opposite of that. I’ve been feeling bad all week and haven’t had a chance to say it. He knows how much I love him.”"

Exchanges like that probably happen more often than fans realize. In the heat of the moment, emotions can sometimes boil over and result in a reaction like that. Later in the game, we saw emotions get the best of another Patriots player.

Tight end Rob Gronkowski launched himself at Bills’ cornerback Tre’Davious White after an interception. Gronkowski was suspended one game as a result of the play and will miss this week’s matchup against the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football.

While Gronkowski won’t be playing, Brady will be. Brady will be under center against the Dolphins despite battling an Achilles injury in recent weeks.
