. RUSHING DEFENSE GRADE. F. .

The Patriots took the lead in the first quarter and never looked back. As a result, the game flow called for the Bills to throw the ball more if they wanted to get back into the game. The Patriots should consider themselves lucky for that as the Bills were tearing them apart on the ground.

The Bills are a run-first team so you know they are going to pound the rock. Despite the lopsided score, they still gashed the Patriots throughout the afternoon. As a team, the Bills totaled 183 yards on 23 carries, averaging 7.0 yards per carry.

Leading the way was LeSean McCoy. McCoy received 15 carries and turned them into 93 yards, averaging 6.2 yards per carry. McCoy was the bell cow back with Mike Tolbert sidelined, but he was not the only Bills player to find success on the ground.

Despite battling a knee injury, Tyrod Taylor still managed to rush for 32 yards on three carries. Third-string quarterback, Joe Webb, even had a package installed for him and found success. Webb carried the ball three times for 27 yards in Wildcat packages. He also attempted one pass, barely missing Travaris Cadet down the middle.

Cadet received four carries as well and gained 22 yards. Even Nathan Peterman scrambled once for nine yards.

There are very few teams that are as run dominant as the Bills and possess a true dual-threat quarterback. However, if the Patriots are going to get home field in the postseason and return to the Super Bowl, they have to shore up the run defense. If they stop the run this poorly against a team such as the Steelers, they could get run out of the stadium.
