The New England Patriots injury report had some positives after Thursday’s practice.

The New England Patriots are heading into another important matchup in Week 13 against the Buffalo Bills. The Patriots are looking to put the AFC East race to bed and took one step closer to accomplishing that last week in defeating the Miami Dolphins. If they are able to defeat the Bills this week, that would all but wrap up the AFC East.

If the Patriots are going to defeat the Bills, they will have to overcome some injury concerns once again. At this point in the season, injury reports are always lengthy with players nursing all types of ailments and injuries. The Patriots had a number of important players on theirs this week.

The biggest name on the injury report was Tom Brady. Brady was on the injury report with an Achilles injury. Brady has been on the injury report a few times but has played almost every offensive snap this season.

Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston shared a video of Brady at practice.

While Brady looks ready to go, two other starters are heading in the wrong direction. Right tackle Marcus Cannon has been listed as Did Not Participate both Wednesday and Thursday because of his ankle injury.

In addition to Cannon, wide receiver Chris Hogan also didn’t participate in both practices. Hogan has been sidelined since Week 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers. He has been dealing with a shoulder injury and there really isn’t a timetable for when he will return.

Brady should have one of his receivers available, as Danny Amendola has been a limited a participant in practice this week. Amendola has been playing through a hyperextended knee for multiple weeks, gutting it out as the Patriots are shorthanded at wide receiver.

Cannon and Hogan are the only players on the injury report who have not participated in practice this week. The other 10 players listed, including Brady and Amendola, have been limited participants in at least one practice.

Nora Princiotti of the Boston Globe shared a full injury report for the Patriots following their practice Thursday.

Eric Rowe has not played since Week 4 against the Carolina Panthers, but he is heading in the right direction. Special Teams ace Matt Slater has missed the past two games but is also trending in the right direction. David Andrews has also missed the past two games, with Ted Karras starting at center in his place.

The Patriots would be hard pressed to replace both Trey Flowers and Kyle Van Noy. They have been arguably the two most consistent performers on a Patriots defense that has struggled at times and be hit hard by injuries. Having both players on the field would greatly improve the Patriots chances of defeating the Bills.
