New England Patriots receive high praise from Sean McDermott
By Nick Ziegler
With a big game coming up for the Buffalo Bills against the New England Patriots, head coach Sean McDermott recently praised New England.
After a bit of a sluggish start to the season, the New England Patriots are right where they want to be. They are currently leading the AFC East, and are right there with Pittsburgh Steelers for the best record in the conference.
This offseason, the Patriots made a lot of moves that led many to believe that they would be able to run the table this season. After losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the first game of the season, that dream died rather quickly.
After that loss, the Patriots did struggle a bit for a few weeks. On the defensive side of the ball, the Patriots dealt with some injuries that certainly did help them gel. However, the talented defensive unit has really improved since the beginning of the season, and the Patriots are rolling now.
Recently, Bills head coach Sean McDermott talked about the Patriots being a better team than they have in the past. Considering that they are the defending Super Bowl champions, this is certainly some high praise from McDermott.
"“This is an outstanding football team,” McDermott said to Kevin Duffy of MassLive.com. “Not that the other ones weren’t, it just seems like now with the addition of some other players that they’ve added on the roster, with the addition of (Brandin) Cooks and some of the other players they’ve been able to add the last X amount of months, I think this is a dynamite football team.”"
McDermott notes the addition of Cooks as something that has really improved the Patriots. It is hard to argue with McDermott and that statement, as Cooks has been a very good addition to the Patriots.
Cooks provides the Patriots with one of the top deep threats in the NFL. As we have seen in recent weeks, Cooks and Brady appear to be on the same page in regards to their timing together. With Cooks becoming more comfortable in the offense, Brady really has two elite weapons to throw the ball to with Cooks and Rob Gronkowski.

For the Bills, they could really use an upset victory at home against the Patriots to keep pace in the AFC Wild Card picture. However, McDermott knows that it will be a tough task to beat New England.
