New England Patriots: Center David Andrews beginning to feel better
By Nick Ziegler
For the past two weeks, the New England Patriots have been without center David Andrew. Luckily, it appears like he is getting closer to a return.
In a strange turn of events just prior to playing the Oakland Raiders, center David Andrews popped up on the injury report with an illness for the New England Patriots. Andrews went on to miss the game against Oakland, and then again against Miami last week.
While Andrews hasn’t gone into details with the media about his illness, he was able to get back on the practice field Wednesday. Even though he was still a limited participant, it was certainly a good sign to see him back on the practice field.
Recently, Andrews talked with Mike Reiss of ESPN.com about coming back and how he was feeling. Here’s what he had to say.
"“I feel good. Just trying to better each day and just, you know, preparing and getting ready to get back in there as soon as possible.’”"
Prior to the illness, Andrews was having a great season for the Patriots. According to Pro Football Focus, Andrews is the fourth highest graded center in the NFL this season. While he grades well as a pass blocker, he has really excelled as a run blocker for the Patriots this season.
In his absence, it has been Ted Karras under center for the Patriots. Surprisingly, the Patriots have done quite well considering they have been without their starting center.
"“They definitely did a good job,” he said. “It was good to see them go out there and compete [and] it was definitely tough sitting out and watching it.’”"
In Week 13, the Patriots will be facing off against the Buffalo Bills on the road. Even though the Patriots are rolling, having Andrews back would certainly be nice. The Bills’ rushing defense has struggled this season, and moving the ball on the ground is always a good way to win tough division games on the road.

However, if Andrews is out once again, the offensive line has proved that they can survive without him. Furthermore, we will have to wait and see until likely Friday whether or not we can expect Andrews back, or if he will be out for the third straight game.
